"So this week was really stressful and really awesome and really crazy. So what happened is me and Elder Canfield got to hangout for about 4 days and that was freaking awesome! And Monday night we were anxiously waiting for the call from our Zone Leaders concerning our new companions! So we were just waiting and waiting and then we got the call! First it was me! And my Zone Leader tells me (in spanish) "Elder Stevens.... Youre going to be a TRAINER!" I stopped dropped my mouth and told him he was lying and I didnt believe him. Then he told me that I needed to be in the offices at 8:30 in the morning. I could not believe him. But turns out h wasnt lying! IM A DAD! Im training a bran spankin new missionary from Huancayo Peru his name is Elder Chavez. Hes 20 years old and hes a good guy. I was stressed out of my mind the first 2 days. Im almost just as new as him hahaha. I wasnt even finished with my training by the time I picked this guy up hahaha. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to get a normal companion thats got some good time in the mission but nope. The Lord definitely had something else in mind. So at first like I said I was very nervous for this something that helped is the fact that Elder Canfield is training too hahaha and hes a DL but another thing he told me is I wasnt just picked out of a hat. I was picked by the Lord and obviously there is a reason for it. My comp doesnt know a lick of english and I thought I was going to struggle. I was so used to being able to rely on my dad Elder Fernandez but not anymore. BUT the Lord has definitely helped me. There hasnt been one moment this whole week where I have been completely lost. Its been such a confidence booster! Im so excited to be a trainer its so awesome. Ive already learned that I know a lot than I thought I did. Im so thankful I had a trainer that could prepare me for this moment to train another! This week weve been in trainings and were guided to some more investigators this week! Its been so cool and I hope I can hear from all you! IM going to try and send a video of the crazy fireworks from new years! Sounded like WW2 over hear! Hahaha love you all! "So this week had definitely been one of the hardest weeks so hard hahaha but im going to be ok! Training a new missionary is just stressful for me and this week we walked and walked and walked hahaha. No one really wanted anything from us. We got a lot of doors shut in our face and a lot of swear words hahaha english and spanish but still we saw some miracles and had some really cool experiences! So there is these 3 dudes two of them are members completely in active due to some problems with the Word of Wisdom and then this other random dude who drinks all the time who is hilarious! But anyways I gave all three of them a card of Jesus Christ and they all promised me that they would keep it with them at all times intheir pocket. So everytime I pass by them I yell out for their cards and they whip it out everytime! They always have it with them! That was kind of cool. So I was talking to the guy who is completely inactive and he has kind of been an angel for us in sometimes. So he hangsout with all the rough dudes in the neighborhood and he told us how a bunch of them were all talking and they saw us. And one of them said they should go and rob us because im white and we wear nice close so we have to have money. But David the inactive dude told them that that is the stupidest thing that they could ever do. All we do is do good things and all we have is very sacred scriptures and I guess that kind of made his friends interested so theyre going to stop by and talk to us next time they see us haha. Hes a very good guy David and we are going to try helping him out a bit. Hope to here from you all! All is well here! The Church is true love you all!"

"Hello everyone hope all is well at home! All is good in Peru! Thursday there were like HUGE riots about 5 minutes away from our room so we couldnt leave hahaha but its all good I got to make some cornbread and that was awesome! So this week could be really really good! This week we are planning to baptize A! He is way awesome and I think he feels pretty good about it! Also there is a possibility to baptize Family M.E. too hahah they are awesome just missing a little. Pray for them!
So today I want to share a very very good scripture in John 7:17 it says "If any man will do his will, he shall know the doctorine, whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself." So wow I love this verse a lot. This is Jesus saying that if we follow a commandment we will learn of why its a commandment. This includes every single commandment that we have. Word of Wisdom. Chastity. Keeping the sabath day holy.Reading your scriptures. Praying. Every single commandment. If we dont understand why its a commandment follow it God will bless us and show us why its a commandment. With obedience comes blessings. Love you all and hope to hear from you all.
